Our Mission

Discover how you can help and make an impact

La Cosecha’s mission is “to empower community members with the resources to restore their dignity and stability. We achieve this by helping them at their lowest, and providing the tools and training to improve their way of living and teaching them to give back when they are restored.”

Our Founder

Rita Gallardo, our CEO, was born in Cerocahui, Chihuahua, Mexico, and moved to the United States in 1998, making Tulsa her home ever since.

Rita is a passionate, community-oriented leader, devoted family person, entrepreneur, language professor, and fashion enthusiast. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and writing.

She leads La Cosecha with an open heart and is dedicated to serving everyone, regardless of race, faith, gender, or social standing. Her goal is to foster a greater culture of giving to help the most vulnerable in her community and set a new standard of generosity by treating everyone with compassion, dignity, and respect.

Our

THEORY OF CHANGE

Faces change, hunger remains. It’s a harsh reality that resonates deeply within our ever-growing community. Despite the shifting landscape of our community, the relentless struggle against hunger continues. Yet, in the face of this challenge, we refuse to give in. Our mission is to increase self-sufficiency in our community.
